Armagh U14s were left disappointed as they let this league encounter v Ballynahinch slip away from their grasp. From the outset Armagh encamped in Ballynahinchs 22 in the opening period. After a bout of sustained pressure led by Matthew Nicholl, Jack Rowntree and Dylan Hazelton, Lewis Crozier squeezed over for the game’s opening score. Michael Burnett converted for Armagh to take a 7-0 lead. On 20mins Ballynahinch replied with a fine try of their own after their winger managed to evade several tackles down the touchline. The try went unconverted and Armagh responded with more pressure and were rewarded with a penalty. Lee Nesbitt and Lewis Crozier combined and looked to have scored however a last ditch tackle in the corner from Ballynahinch saved the day leaving the half time score 10-5 at half time.
In the second half Armagh looked to be taking control of the game however a missed penalty attempt and several opportunities went astray. Crozier looked to have extended Armagh’s lead however he was deemed short of the line from the Hinch tackler. Going into the last 10mins Armagh allowed Hinch back into the game when they barged over for 2 late tries to leave the final score at 17-10 to Ballynahinch.
