City of Armagh Rugby Football Club is sad to learn of the passing of George Knipe this morning Wednesday 27th June and we would like to pass our deepest sympathies to George’s Family Circle.

George was a true gentleman and a great servant of our club for many years.

George played his rugby for Armagh in the back row during the 70s, Playing for 1st 2nds and 3rds and was captain off 2nd Xv in 1975 the centenary year of the club

After playing George was continually involved in the running of the club and in the background doing what ever was needed from helping out on Sub Committees, doing repairs around the grounds and in the club house to setting up tables for Pre-match lunches

George was a general committee member for several years lending his experiences and advice to many of us over those years.
Then serving as President of the club 2009-2010.

Rest in Peace George
